The pulpy, freshly pressed, unfermented grape juice that kickstarts the winemaking process is known as mosto in Italian. This casual cafe and bar serves French, Modern European and Italian cuisine, ranging from beef tartare to peanut pie with maple syrup cream.

After dinner head up to the speakeasy, “Behind the Green Door”, where you can drink cocktails and dance the night away.

Located 2.3 kilometres from Villa Puro Blanco, this European-styled bistro offers a great selection of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine ranging from fresh salads and sandwiches to hearty pastas and grilled specialties. Standout dishes include wild mushroom risotto, grilled lamb chops with mint pesto, and a scrumptious tiramisu. It gets very busy, so it’s wise to book in advance.

Da Maria on Jl Petitenget (2.3km) is a modern Italian Osteria featuring stunning interiors, an open kitchen, wood fired pizza ovens, Italian wines and cocktails. Check out the locally produced burrata, calamari sant’ andrea, braised lamb and black heritage pork tortelloni, and risotto with mascarpone, and gremolata.  All dishes are designed to share, so be sure to order lots of plates.

  • Loloan Yeh Poh

    Just 250 metres from Villa Puro Blanco, at Kayu Putih Beach, you’ll find Loloan Yeh Poh, which in Balinese means “where the river meets”. It’s a lagoon at the estuary of a river and at high tide, it looks like a lake. The beach got its name from the Pura Kayu Putih, the holy temple nearby.

  • Tanah Lot

    The dramatic and venerated sea temple of Tanah Lot (13.8km) is perched on a craggy wave-lashed rock just at the edge of the frothing white surf and glistening black shoreline. Dedicated to the sea spirits, it is probably the most photographed sight in Bali, especially in the late afternoon when its splendid profile is silhouetted against the setting sun.

  • Kintamani

    Take a daytrip to Kintamani (63km) to see one of Bali’s most photographed volcanoes. Here, you can enjoy locally harvested coffee or an Indonesian buffet lunch while marvelling at the spectacular views of Mt Batur and the crescent-shaped Lake Batur, set within the gigantic caldera of an extinct volcano. Mt Batur is Bali’s second most sacred mountain after Mt Agung.
